the post points to an off shot focus point but the wires lead us into the castle tower in a zig zag fashion
the off center framing works (cos i normally dont like framing esp if its fairly thick) and works curiously since the tower ends up being completely central to the 4x3 box yet doesnt feel centered
i suppose the off shot focus helps to weight the whole image to the left
very clever
looks like it was a crisp morning/evening
the contrast between the white frost and the colours in the background with the low light and long shadows play well
Super capture. It's beautifully composed, super example on how to compose a photo. The lighting on the castle provides contrast to the frosty foreground. Terrific work, like it a lot, high marks from me.
Beautiful capture Phillp....The post in the fore ground with the coating of frost is very sharp, then your eye lead to the ruins of a 'castle'!... a really crackin image this one...very well done.......Bob
How could I not leave a comment on my favourite topic: ruins... The photo is remarkable. The fence, the frozen reeds and finally the red ruins... Everything seems to work their magic. And I am very sorry for the tree has been cut off :(
What wonderful colors in the white hoarfrost, the green moss on the posts and the crumbled red brick. This one's more about the composition than the castle itself and it's scored big from me.
