"In my mind's eye, I visualize how a particular... sight and feeling will appear on a print. If it excites me, there is a good chance it will make a good photograph. It is an intuitive sense, an ability that comes from a lot of practice."
Ansel Adams
Did you vacation here this year? Perhaps you have family here? It is a lovely spot. Back in 89 I visited the town of Peipin near Sisteron in the French Alps, and was astounded at the beauty all around me. Unfortunately an Italian customs agent ruined all seven of my rolls of film, so I have no evidence of my trip. One day I will find him and cut out his heart with a grapefruit spoon ...
Pierre, this is too beautiful for a desktop. I think it would look much better hanging in my living room. 10 by me (only because I can't give it a 20). It doesn't get any better than this. WELL DONE!!!!
Then in their trouble they called to the Lord, and He saved them from their distress. He brought them out of their gloom and darkness and broke their chains in pieces. (Psalm 107:13-14)
Your style and good eye for what makes an engaging picture never fail. It appears that you caught this shot during a parting of the clouds, which gave the sun a chance to shine in. I would suggest a bit more focus on the village in this image. I find myself peering to get more detail there.
Here is a new Favorite for me Pierre.I almost can see a little train going through the Alpine village. It is so isolated looking.Wonderful capture my friend.
Peace&Respect Jojo
With the high temperature for tomorrow, 1/14/2004 around 41 deg. C., I will use this magnificent photograph on my desktop with gratitude to you, and hope it will help to keep me cool! Thank you.
This is with out a doubt one of the best christmas landscapes I have seen captured
the cold fog in the background gives it the perfect touch. A once in a life time shot.
thank you for this
The beauty of this picture is overwhelming. It's a place where you can take your shoes off in the summer, be warm next to the fireplace in the winter with a blanket and good book to read, then later cross country ski in its beauty, with a hot toddy afterwards watching the sunset.
Agree with Robert on this one. Looks like a little girl's fantasy village to play with. ;) Very cool. Don't know how I missed this one either. ;o Taking it to my winter slideshow. Love it.
I can't think of a more beautiful picture Pierre or a more beautiful place to be. This is awesome on the desktop and magnificant in every way. It sure is a 10++ Thanks for sharing it. Anita
Pierre this is a SHOT, so great and beautiful little farms, mist, snow...etc. That place you made a lot of shots, isn't it. Much, much better as postcards. Very great!!!!!!
