We visited a chapel in the Pyrenees (France), but this strong door was closed. We could just imagine the treasures hidden inside...

Very nicely composed image Pierre. slightly odd contrast with the v.old door with a new potted plant seated next to it :-) A little shame the sun has burnt out the highlights so much on the right archway - a shade less would have been spot on but this is just a minor concern compared to the image overall. well done.

I love pictures of doors. Always very curious as to what is on the other side. This one is very intriguing. It truly leaves a lot to the imagination. Thanks for letting us have a peek.

Hello Pierre! this photo has such a great great feel to it. It must have been wonderfully quiet there..That door is so ancient looking...love the hardware and I am a total nut about arches!! I have one inside my home..and someday I hope to have many...I noticed there is another arch to the right...I cant help but wonder what the whole building looks like now...can we have a peek at that too? I really like the contrast of the wood, the stone and then the wonderful shadows.I only WISH I could go to France one day! Nicely done my friend! Hope you are doing ok today!!

I felt that the the lighting really let this photo down Pierre. I really couldn't see much detail...

What is it about pictures of doors in old buildings that entrances us so? Perhaps thinking of who might have gone through the portal, what might have transpired within... I love this picture. Job well done.

I'm in complete agreement with philcUK above. A truly wonderful image and composition with only the over exposure on the extreme right side a slight detraction.

Just an old "Grampa" who still has a Kodak "Box" camera kicking around the attic ... learning and enjoying the wonders of modern digital photography.

What an interesting doorway,, I would want to see whats inside as well. Such ancient stonework, I love it. Again I agree with all above me,, there is something about doors that intriques me. And with this one being so old, I bet it could tell some tales. Thank you for sharing it.

I applaud you on this well composed shot! This ancient door is beautiful - and all the stonework is so heavy and solid - those doorway arches have seen a lot of wear and tear. The green plant is well placed and adds a spot of colour. I mustn't forget the lovely lighting, and for me, it compliments this scene. A winner in all ways, Pierre :^>

I need to catch up on things so can't comment too much. But I love all of your fine images :)
