It’s an aged piece that has a very nostalgic composition and feel - the muted colour suits the style and mood perfectly - gaudy saturation is the last thing it needs. Well done on another consistently fine image.
Well, to answer your question, Pierre: First, no one but you can see what's in your memory! And second, isn't the point of Caedes not so much to reproduce reality, but rather to create eye-pleasing wallpaper? (No one said anything about gaudy, Phil.) But this is all academic, because people who download your fine photo can tweak it themselves, if they so desire. In any case, thanks for a very interesting image!
When I saw this pic, my first thought was how wonderful it must be for the monks in the monastery to see color and pattern in every small thing. I think art is creativity and in creativity we can find a pathway to revere God.

My thoughts mimic Kristof's. This shot has it all, texture, color, design, lighting... this native art is just fabulous and you caught so many fine examples of it in one photograph. Thank you for this one.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Cher Pierre, the colours, fabric and patterns are rich enough for me without more saturation. I have a deep love for that kind of thing. It's very well captured and composed. This is a very beautiful series. :)
Thanks to all my friends for the wonderful images I get to look at and learn from on Caedes every day. I always have something to say about them, but don't always have the time to record it. Please forgive me if I can't comment on all of your uploads.
