Farmers working hard in their fields in the hot sun from morning to evening is a common scene in Sri Lanka. This paddy work caught my eye at an area called 'Welimada'.

Great shot Priyantha...you are so good at using your images as expressions to let us see the part of your world.....The differences between these very hard working folks...and those that sit on their fat asses!..are really 'Worlds' apart...are'nt they!...thank for the viewing mate.....well done with this subject......

Nice image, this is well composed, and the green plant makes a good contrast to the surrounding mud. Unfortunately the lighting wasn't ideal, as the side of the subject that is facing us, is not the side the sun is shining on, making the subject a bit dull. However the concept behind this image is powerful, and reminds us how much harder life is in other countries.

Every morning I will rest my arms a while upon the windowsill of heaven, gaze upon God, and with that vision in my heart turn strong to meet my day.

What a capture this is Priyantha. Is this on a tea plantation or in the rice fields? These laborer's work from sun-up to sun-down for very little pay, isn't that correct? Your portrayal of your country is quite poignant. Thank you for taking the time to show it to us through the lens of your camera :~)

The photo is very well done. Was it taken from on top of a building or something? The title adds a lot to the photograph as well.
