This is a slight tweak and a black and white conversion of this previous fractal; "Apophysis Hadron Collider".

It does look like it should be something, though, no?

(*nods unconvincingly*)

Something that might be of some benefit during these dog days of summer..

(*runs through sprinkler in his Speedo*)

I don't know... I'm still trying to get my mind past the speedos.

:oD

Well, Les, now in black & white it looks a bit like a cluster of ice crystals or a heretofore unpublished photograph of Superman's Fortress of Solitude.

"What is it?"

For me it looks like fiber glass, but then again it could be angelhair witch you use in the christmastree🎄

Nicely done 👍🏼😄

My guess is that it could be ice crystals that form in ice cubes - a nice ice cold drink would be quite refreshing during those dog days of summer!!!!!!!!!!

Would be a perfect entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge (BWC), Les!

See by the above comments that it's stimulating someone's image (inclusive the one of mine), so perfectly done!

Hi Les don't want to state the obvious but this is a macro of the heart of a Snowflake
as all snowflakes are fractals it can be nothing else.

Hey Les. Just how will this contest be decided? The object is to do what?? Guess what it is before everyone else? Is the winner the person with the most votes as usual? But what would we be voting on in this case? Color? Originality? Deception level? The image that has the most people confused? What exactly and how will the winner be decided???:):) Any comments welcome for clarity:)

@Bruce: This is from the Contest Topic Poll discussion page..

"What is it?"

"The voting could be based upon the particular beauty of the image, or maybe the difficulty of the identification."

... ...

Additionally, I've copied and pasted your comment to that page, Bruce. Perhaps, Nik; aka Nikoneer can flesh things out some more. Time and opportunity permitting.

Since you say it is a fractal, it is not a physical thing. Therefore any guess can be correct. It depends on the beholder, like guessing what an inkblot represents. I say it is a Mack truck.

None of the above?

I have to say this is never a thingamajig !!
I am well educated in recognising thingamajigs of several kinds and this fits none of the criteria.
Possibly (and I use the word loosely) it would qualify as a thingamaBOB or a whatjamacallit but to me it looks more like a wigwam for a goose's bridle. (anyone not knowing what that is - look it up it is a reality)

All jokes aside, of course it is obvious ! No one is brave enough to say - shades of the Emperors new clothes. In days gone by when magic wands were the norm rather than the unusual a wave of a wand would produce magic glitter. Somehow you have acquired some of this glitter (by fair means or foul, we can not tell) and it is being spread around willy nilly - I think it would be safer in the BWC after this contest is over, for safety's sake.
One never knows what this random sprinkling could do.
We may all turn unto pumpkins, or even worse, thingamajigs !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Hey Les. Being as your a "Praetor" here at Caedes, do you have any recommendations/suggestions/comments to what Lisa(:questjester) has suggested about all of the contest entrants revealing the real identity of each entry before the voting is over???? Very curious:):)

@Bruce; aka Flmngseabass & Lisa; aka questjester:

I don't have a problem with what Lisa did, in requesting that the artists that submitted an entry to this contest, reveal their item, thing.. whichever and whatever.

Towards the end of allowing the voters to judge who did the better job of obscuring their item, thing.. whichever and whatever.

If you think about it.. there's no harm or foul, in doing so.

Since, the voters were never going to be awarded anything for having guessed correctly.

And personally, I can't see how it would negatively affect the voting.. other than, and as aforementioned.. providing an assist in determining which artist might get a tick in the particular column of 'obscuring' their item, thing.. whichever and whatever.

I has spoken!

Ahem..

Now, then.. cookies on the house!

(*passes plate of these cookies around*)
