I've gotten to know a lot of insects since I've been here, but never a totally red one like this. The macro is flawlessly executed, and the greens are very eye catching in that they are one hue in the background and quite another where the little guy is sitting..I'm not saying it's not a natural occurrence, it's just that it also makes for a nicer picture, and we're lucky that it came out that way..great post :)PJ
I need to go to class or something. There are so many things I don't know how to do. You've got a fabulous macro here Dean and it's excellent in all ways. Lighting, color, clarity, all of it just right on. Thanks for sharing this Red Dragon with us.
All the wonders you seek are within yourself. Always glad to see visitors at My Gallery and thanks for your continued kind words and constant support. Anita
Fantastic close-up shot. Sure see how he got his name! Excellent details seeing those thin delicate wings. They sure have huge eyes - must see well? Interesting seeing his arms working on that leaf. Splendid composition and clearness. The blurred green background looks fine with the red body of the dragonfly. Another wonderful shot Dean :*)
Spectacular! I've never seen one in solid red before. I wonder if the ancients would say it's good luck that he flew into your forehead? Perhaps even more so that he stood still for the shot. Thanks for posting it!

Well done Dean. I hope the dragon didn't try to taste ya? lololol If you met the insect on you way up the mountain then what did you meet on your way down? A panda bear?
