A unique subject. The sidelight is very effective, though there is bit of glare from it on the clementine. I like the clementine's reflection on the table. Thad
I hope you don't want me to take this serious...?
Sorry but...
(Some words about my comments in general:
Although, being a professional photographer for 37 years specialised in advertising, I realize I'm still a novice as a member here at Caedes.
I understand that most pictures here at Caedes are taken by amateurs so I realize they can not be judged on a professional level, but.... it strikes me that most comments from other members are usually (if not always), expressed in terms as "good, fantastic, well-done, etc", although many pictures I see here at Caedes are not "as good" as the comments want me to believe.
I understand that in most cases the reason for this is well-intentioned but therefore also meaningless.
It is my believe that any comment should be honest and not out off politeness and therefor by definition complimentary, a comment should be fair and if necessary also with criticism or even destructive if this will help the maker (maybe) in making better pictures.
So any comment I'm asked to give will be, taking into account that a picture is taken by an amateur, still be honest. I am aware that my kind of comment will not leave me many friends. But hey, who cares...)
I think this shot would be more appealing if there were a greater contrast between the light and dark areas, at the moment the whole thing seems a little muddy. The light levels may also explain why the details are not as sharp as tgey should be; for me that is what this type of macro shpuld be all about. However that could also come down to the lens you are using as only a decent dedicated macro lens will be abe to get good detail levels this close to the subject. Good on you for trying something a bit different from the majority.
