Male Anna's hummingbird in hover mode. Amazing how they can hold their body so still while their wings are moving so fast! No strobes or multi flashes; f2.8 and 1/125th

He's so lovely and I like your stop motion photography. What a pretty color necklace he has. I can't even begin to get close to one of these.

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel. -Josemaria Escriva

What is even more amazing is YOUR ability to capture THEIR amazing feat so well. Not the first time either ... been through your gallery and have one as a favorite. Your Hummer shots are superb.

A great image to stare at considering that we never get to view these birds this way with our own eyes.

I just judged this in the Voting booth. This image is one of only three perfect "10" votes I have ever given. I am thoroughly impressed with the skill and patience involved with the capture of this shot. Great work...I will now go check out the others in your portfolio.

Thanks for sharing!

I download most of the humingbird photos because I can't get that close to the ones in my yard, even with feeders. So I am amazed at the photo and appreciate your contribution to my downloads. A very nice photo. Ted

Whew - such a precious hummer. Very clear capture with good details. He does have his gears (those cute lil feet) up. Beautiful coloring with that striking ruby throat. Wonderful how you caught him in motion. Top quality image-thanks Rick, for sharing this sweetie :*>

Well Rick You said take a browse through Your Hummingbird collection.
This is an extremely good shot with a very glitzy subject to boot. Even egggray would struggle to compete with this upload. :o). I'm replacing an old canon 35mm slr very soon, what equipment do You use ?
Great pic, should I say a jewel in Your collection. ;o)
