Taken in S AZ, this is an American kestrel, 2nd smallest of the genus Falco, about the size of a dove. They eat sparrows, lizards, scorpions and large insects. Mmmm ...

Nice clear pic of this lovely bird..and I guess someone has to do that job..eating all those destructive elements..nature at her finest.

Saw this in VB. Super job on clarity. She really has her eye on you. Interesting and educational narrative, too. Very nice job. A definite keeper.

Wow! Supercloseup of a super bird. Fun to get this close without it fluttering around...so one can look at all the detail. I might like this better with a bit of the right side cropped, the pic off-centered and framed. This one is a "must have" for any bird lover!
