I love this one. When I got it in the voting booth it reminded me of a tire track which reminded me of traveling which reminded me that that's one of my New Year's resolutions...to get out more and see more of the world !!
"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
And no slight against your tweaking, for me ... the standout element that really brings together your image here, compositionally and conceptually ... is the choice of gradients and the post-sweetening you did.
The 'lighting' you achieved is excellent.
And as per your usual ... the balance and final lines achieved ... are very symmetrical. Not an easy thing, by no means.
Uhm ... time for a change in prescription glassware yet? :oP
My word, your eyes must have been tired after this creation.
Curious though, and that is all I am trying to convey here with this next thought ... any consideration given to a zoom, and then a subsequent change in orientation and composition ... to allow for some more ... literally ... negative space?
Might be interesting to see what the visual impact would be on your viewers if you created some additional space and not have 'the summit of your behemoth' as close to the upper right hand frame. Just a thought, 'tis all.
Quite a sosphisticated flame in all regards. And not to sound trite ... as that is surely not my intention here ... nice work. Nice work Larry. :o)
