Volubilis-- ancient Roman capital of North Africa, the breadbasket of the Empire! This site, one of the largest Roman ruins (though heavily pillaged) is currently less than half uncovered. There are already more than a dozen buildings in various states, and some of the most amazing mosaics to be seen. This shot is of the Temple of Jupiter.

Well that’s different, and an interesting holiday memento too. Love the bird peering down from his nest, a stork perhaps?

I believe the bricks are a 19th century replacement, so yes, but not VERY recent, still historical!
