Another photo from my drive to work. This fishing camp is on a bayou that the interstate highway crosses between New Orleans and Baton Rouge. This morning I passed a burning car and a line of traffic both caused by the fog you see here. A few minutes later I passed this littoral scene, and was stricken by the juxtaposition of the angst of the "modern" world and the peace of this fishing camp.

I agree with Jacqueline. Very gloomy looking and nice Mauve coloration. Well done.

Nice atmosphere in this one Regmar. The high fog gives it interest. Nicely done.

I too used to spend weekends at a place like this, accessible only by boat. In the '60's my dad belonged to a group that had a duck-hunting lease and built a camp on a hummock in the marsh where we could take shelter from the cold. Funny I seem to have forgotten all those freezing winter nights at 5AM huddled in the open boat in the marsh waiting for my dad to fix the motor which had stranded us out so far from anything that the horizon was an unbroken line of razorgrass and sunrise still an hour away. All I focus on through the gauzy wisps of memory are the sunny afternoons fishing off the dock or playing on the skeletal hulks of sunken shrimp boats half-buried by the passage of the years and weather. Ah, those were halcyon days ...

Love this shot - it's just perfect. I thought maybe it was bayoubooger when I first saw it. Thanks for the interesting story behind it, too.
