As night fell over Lake Charles, Louisiana we were searching for dinner in an unfamiliar town as a result of our having been evacuated from our homes in the path of Hurricane Katrina. In the process of discovering just how few restaurants there *are* in Lake Charles we came across this view which my wife insisted I photograph. Guess she was right ...

Nice shot, I like the angle you shot this at and the color of the sky is great with the darkness of the bridge, nice shot!

Great pic Regmar ; i love the lack of detail on the bridge and the lights make a good contrast with the dark combine this with the gorgeous sky and good framing you get very high marks from me. And fav.

Isnt it amazing how we can still find comfort in things like this, even in a world of such turmoil and sadness. I lived in Louisiana for 15 years...and to think of the sadness and devastation iis almost too hard to believe. I saw photos today of the hurricane...and it is horribly frightening. I am so happ you were still able to find such a beautiful photo. And this framing makes it all the more dramatic. Thank you so much for posting this..and thank your wife for seeing a photo in this..I love the silhouette and the glow of the lights peeking thru..Please check the Message Boards for a poem I just wrote about Katrina.

I am sad to know that Lake Charles will be threatened tonight. I have a dear friends there. Again, my wishes for your safety.
This is such a fantastic composition Regmar. A beautiful balance of sky and bridge. Just the right darkness to enhance the bridge's silhouette. Gorgeous sky color. You've complimented it perfectly with your elegant frame choice.

Gorgeous color. That single light coming on up there is a great accent. Like the vertical, works well with the height and weight of the structure

Regmar, the striking mood, composition and presentation got this a 10 from me in the voting booth - well done! I have family in your area and I feel for all of you. By chance, do you have more photographs of this devestating history to share with us? - Patty
