While driving home I saw this bird (Yes, I know - another egret), perched in a tree. I pulled over to the side of the highway, prepared my camera and exposure settings, backed up , and started shooting. The bird spooked, and flew away, and in desperation, I followed him still trying to get one last shot. It turned out that was the one. The lesson - Never give up.

Hey there my friend! Oh to see this kind of scene! The reminders it brings of the South..the scents...the quiet...the people...I miss them all at times so much. But your photos bring the good things back to me! and for that I thank you so much. I am glad things are slowly beginning to "come back" down there...and with a lot of courage and patience and faith...things will improve bit by bit. I love this photo..and yes...we should never give up...we all need to remember that we should never stop doing what we love....thank you Regmar...for the reminders and the beautiful photo!!

Since New Orleans still looks like Hiroshima, I have to get out as often as possible and see something that still looks the way it did before the hurricane. One thing about nature - it may not be sophisticated, but it's also not destroyed very easily. Its beauty gives me hope that one day I will look down my street and not see those red "X's" spray-painted on all the houses, and not see those damned horizontal waterlines on all the cars, and the piles of garbage that used to be people's lives in front of the houses. The piles get hauled away each week, yet seem to grow back in the intervening days. There is no beauty in my city - but in the countryside one can still find it if one is only willing to get a little dirty. I don't mind...

Beautiful cpature reg. I like the single spot of white (that is the bird) in an otherwise darker scene. It really adds drama and makes this image very classy. Thanks. Keep your hopes up, things will get better, albeit slowly. :~)

I to like the way the Egret shows up against the darker background. It’s a bit like a beacon to draw the eye in. It’s remarkable how resilient nature is I hope you see it as a reminder that life is good and will return to normal (or a new kind of normal) eventually.

I perfectly understand that nature, its power to rebirth, its resistance to the destructive forces keeps up the flame of hope and brings some comfort in the difficult days. I have to admit one can feel it in your images. They have some hidden context.
One thing only distracts my attention: it is the text overlay. Sorry to say that.

Beautiful photo Regmar. I like the depth in this. The weeds in the forground, the main subject, and then the woods in the background.
Nice one.

A very pretty capture you have here, Regmar. I really like the color tones in this photo...nice and earthy and green. The reflection of the bird on the water is quite nice too, and I like how the foreground is out of focus. Good job!

Oh, the beauty of this photo is just stunning. I love the colors of the weeds in the foreground, the fuzzy reflection of the bird on the water, and the overall look of being in a deep dark secret spot. Wonderful!
