Since my first attempt at this image failed so miserably, and I am a glutton for abuse I decided to try again with it. I redeveloped the RAW image with less contrast and more saturation, then put it on a different background. Who knows? This time it might be "better than average". Shot with an Olympus EVolt with 150mm lens during a foggy morning. Please critique it. Thanks.

Wow, this is diffinently a keeper! I like the color choice. The only thing that I might change would be the background color. Try out maybe a dark green? Not much here to improve on in my opinion! Thanks for sharing.

No, I like the color contrast. It draws your attention to the image itself instead of distracting from. Beautiful image. Well done!

Reg.... This is fantastic. I did take a look at the original..... I love the background color & framing on this one better. The B/W really draws you into the whole image & what it represents..... grief & sorrow. I can really feel the emotion in this one. I would definitely say your rework paid off. Excellent work & high marks from me. Congratulations!

Wow, whatever you did here, you did good Reg. I love the red. It adds to the sorrow and sadness that this image represents. I think it also accentuates the image dramatically. You are not a glutton for punishment, you are just a good artist who wants to see how many stars you can reach on your journey. Well done my friend. Tell Lourdes 'hi' for me! Thanks for reworking this. Well worth every moment of your time :~)

This image works well with the title. Since there is no specific thing to call as the main point of the shot it broaden the viewers imagination and interest. Very good.

And isn’t that one of the big benefits of raw files, being able to redevelop the shot for specific purposes. I like what you did here. Although I think it would benefit from some whiter whites but not pure white, that would destroy the subtlety of the shot. I think it’s a flaw to have the leaves covering the statue’s head, otherwise the composition is good with the framing by foliage. The border colour is appropriate and doesn’t compete with the photo. All in all it’s a commendable image.

I agree with Trisbert, I think I would prefer a slightly whiter picture, just a little bit, to much would destroy the mood of the image. For the rest, it is a beautiful and striking image, perfectly framed and composed. It reflects a serenity and a calmness that is very appealing.

WHOA!! Homerun with this one, my friend. You didn't say but I assume (uhoh) it is located in the City of the Dead (I believe that what it's called). Kudos on a superb effort!!

Oh no! Choices, choices! I think I do like this one better, the mist seems so much more pronounced to me in color and some of the monument detailing is more distinct. I'm especially fond of the sculpture style called weeping women. I saw on the other post, your description of the slow shutter speed and by the still branches it must have been a windless morning.

The grey tones are good. I like the depth. Creates a nice sense of mist and mystery.

Nicely framed - good choice of color. I agree with the above comment, in that it could use alittle whiter whites. I love the cemetary statues - they do set the mood of sadness. Look forward to more of this type work...

I was struck by the first post and just went to my Caedes folder to have another look.I like the first one better. The dark frame added to the mood and accentuated the photo,in my opinion of course. It is a very moving image Reg and one of my most favotite.
