So basically, i was bored, and i went outside on my front yard, and started to take random pictures of random things. Sadly i cannot post more then 1 photo a day, or else i would have more :( tho, i think the green leaf kind of takes away from the actually scene of the photo, but oh well =D Please take a look, and please give me pointers on how to make this look better. =D

I believe you critiqued yourownself, in your accompanying narrative?

Kind of kidding in the above, and kind of not. (<--- Not trying to be harsh here.)

Move in, get closer.

Or, in other words ... compose your framing a tad better such that the green leaf actually forms or assists, in forming a natural frame for your subject. That being the new growth.

Prolly stating the obvious, however ... forging ahead ... the top right ... as presented to us, becomes superfluous and a distraction to your viewer's eyes.

All that said ... love your DOF here. :o)

Clarity and colour are very good.

Keep getting bored, only ... and if I may continue with both of my feet planted where they are usually found ... channel your energies some. As there is definitely some potential here.

Macro, perhaps?

The green leaf is fine, Steven. Perhaps some cropping on the left and bottom would have brought the subject closer to the fore. The detail on the dead leaves and buds in excellent.

They took the words right out of my mouth...;-) Cropping the top right and the left bottom will allow my eye to go straight to the focused area, which is well done here...

Interesting shot, although I don't know what to think about it.

Looks a little like experimental imaging. It is leading
the viewers eye directly to the focused area. Well done.
