Beautiful and impressive image. Unusual square framing work here very well. The time to take this shot had been chosen perfectly. 60 seconds long exposure had made the water surface look great. I have to agree with Les (Purmusic). All these settings are not a newbie's. I'd like to know what kind of equipment used here. Great work.
Thank you guys! I promise I am a newbie :) The only pics I took before I got my camera at the end of January were with my Canon sureshot! I now have a Canon Rebel T3i, and it is what I have used to take all of my pictures I have posted here. I had my cheap 50mm Canon lens on for this shot. I really want another lens, but it will probably be a long while before I can afford the one I want! Once I have it, I will probably be back to retake this shot. I also took some other shots in SF while I was there. I'll post some of those too!
I think I know what you mean. I like all of your images. oops I meant that we love your images=me and me partner, SAAB. Perhaps we will explain it all to you later LOL. SAM & SAAB [the canine Secret Assistant Agent Boris]

And wait a minute.. I thought you said you were new to all of this stuff?
I think you.. fibbed!
I am kidding, kidding. :o)
Mind you, the use and incorporating some foreground interest (rocks in the water, et al) in your composition does belie your claim of being a novice.
Quite a photographic masterful touch. And one that indeed elevates your image here.
Great shot.
And..
+favs for me.
