November 18, "St Nicolaas" arrived by boat, from Spain to Holland. With a great and long prossesion-show, with old trade vehicles, Camels, elephants, and ofcourse music! On december 5, is his birhday and so he gave all the children presents!. That is about the same tradition as at crhristmas time "Santa Claus"

Thanks John for this nice picture. Yesterday I saw that people were very busy making preparations for the arrival of Sint Nicolaas in Holland. Lucky for me I could take a picture of his boat. This picture I've already posted.

This is a very good picture, that makes me feel, how the procession is like. I also like those beautiful horses. They look so powerful.

It's nice to learn about other country's traditions. This looks like a colorful and fun parade, complete with grand horses to round out the procession. I'm glad to hear that Santa Claus has some help, as I never could quite believe that he actually distributed toys to everyone around the entire world in one night..lol...Very festive pic, and very well taken :)PJ

Wonderful shot of these beautiful horses and the surrounding acitivity...I like how you kept most of the focus on the animals but can still see some of the people without making it too busy...nice work John and thanks for sharing more of your country's cultures.:Pat.
