This work of art is one of ten so-called City Landmarks (Stadsmarkeringen), which were made to honour the 950th anniversary of the City of Groningen in 1990. The group of statues designates the various inroads into Groningen as 'city gates'.This one (A detail) is located on the highway A7, Germany to Groningen v v.
My entry for the current contest "Negative space"

A good and original find and a wonderful and very apt entry for the 'Negative Space II' contest, John.
