I was talking today with someone who means an awful lot to me, and it made me sad because she told me that she's never really just sat and watched a sunset. She's never felt the urge to do it alone and has never had anyone she was close to do it with her, even though she had suggested it. She lives a few hours fom me, but I think I may just have to road trip and change that... I heavily oversaturated rework in Lightroom 2 of an early work of mine called November Sky.

I really like the intensity of colors and the silhouette of the buildings against the sky. In this instance, I think I might have cropped the water out. It doesn't have the same intensity as the sky, nor the darkness and loss of detail of the buildings - to me, it becomes more of a distraction than an enhancement. Just my perspective. It's a great image evoking passion and interest. anne :-)

Tell me if you like it or don't but be sure to tell me why! I promise to always give honest and sincere (albeit gentle when necessary) critiques. MY NEW YEARS TIP for all, go have some fun with your new gear you got for Christmas. Do some things you rarely or never do. If you always shoot scenics, go shoot macros (or as close up as you can get.) Practice on different subjects, try new lighting techniques, bracket your shots (shoot the same image at different exposures and different apertures), get down low and shoot from your back, your belly, and your knees. Bend, twist, lean and climb up on things. Shoot toward the sky (carefully - blown out sunlight is NOT attractive :-) Just do something different and amaze yourself then share with us :-) Love you Caedians.

I like the contrasts in this one GBR. In the thumbnail it looks like a farm with the land chiseled in the foreground. Full screen you can see it is a industrial area along the river. I can still imagine it being a farm at full size.
The sky looks ablaze.
Wonderful rework. Nice to see you around if just for a bit. Take that trip before she has no sunsets left. Or you.

I like the building silhouettes along the shoreline and that colourful sky Rich. A nice job on the rework and thanks for sharing.

It is sad that a person has never taken the time to watch this kind of beauty. I like the over saturation myself. It makes the sky look as if it is on fire. I like the city scape as well.

Living by the Ocean I see many beautiful sunsets and can't imagine a life without them. I like the water in this photo. The reflection of the sunset is so dramatic. And of course the flaming colour of the sunset itself is totally awesome. And silhouettes are always just gorgeous against those colours. A very explosive photo! It's good to see your photo again and glad your friend sees this nice photo. Verena

very, very dramatic!....Have to agree with colocolor..about the water....a half inch off the bottom would give it more emphasize!....

Nice of you to help out in this way pal...!

Wild and vivid contrasts and colors. Interesting idea above cropping the water. One idea I may look at images differently as well... Even more evocative is in your narrative ... your friend who never had the urge to witness a sunset alone...
