Cod liver oil Levertraan I remember myself sitting in about the same position at the kitchen table waiting for my Mom to come with the SPOON the horror I can still feel and taste it. THE SPOON... THE NOSE PINCH (like that helped) and the gulp. Then the the sick feeling the gag reflex and my Mom saying don't you dare spit it out. The escape ROBERT GET BACK HERE! run run for your life to the hills (we lived in a valley near the treeline) reached the forest out of sight could no longer keep it down... but no relief the smell the taste in my mouth the horror. Please don't think I had a bad childhood because I had a great childhood and a great Mom except for the Cod liver Oil thing. As footnote the next year it was Cod liver Oil time again had planned my escape the moment came I ran only to find the door locked. I turned around to see my Mom standing there with such a sweet smile of satisfaction the Horror the sick feeling in my stomach I could not keep it down .....was my last Cod liver year. The image is not fully colorized because well it was a stroll down memory lane for me. Just used the color for the feeling and emotion think it easier to relate to in the now.. in color than in B&W.

The bottle looks so realistic, could almost reach out and pick it up. I like just that little bit of color to the photo. I sure hated that stuff. Nice work here.

Classic image. The color enhances this. Being from the northeast , cod Liver oil was a staple here but seeing how my parents told the same story as you , they spared us.

'Sweet' memories, Rob (please notice the quotes). In my imagination I taste cod liver oil again. Terrible! Your (selective) coloring process has even enhanced my 'fond' memories. I don't blame you for that. It's on the contrary however, because enjoying high level art often requires suffering some pain, my friend, ☺ ☺ ☺. Great and precious artwork!

I was born in 1968 and never remember this, heard of it for sure, but never had the horror of having to drink it.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Hilarious! Luckily, we were too poor to even afford cod liver oil. We were too poor to afford cod!

Great stuff, Rob. Keep 'em coming.
