On a Borage flower. Taken April 1st with the Canon MP-E65 macro lens at about 1.5-2X. The ring flash was too bright, but I only got the one shot. Bees wait for no one.

Very nice, Russ. You're making great use of that lens and ring/flash.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments. I appreciate every one of them.

I haven't been shooting much with the MP-E65 lately, but a few past efforts were worth showing. It really is an amazing lens.

Oh and by the way, this is 100% of the shot, no cropping done. I just barely got it all in the frame. Well, mostly.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

This macro is extremely nice Russ, you have very nice detail in the eye and the color looks great too. It is tuff to get everything we want sharp with these macro lenses because of the shallow DOF. You are getting real nice results, very nice work. I am going to have to go to your gallery and see what else I might have been missing.
