It was shot from a tripod with a Canon 70-350 L lens on a Canon 60D body. Autofocus was turned off and the focus distance preselected before the show. ISO was 100 and control set to Manual. The lens was stopped down to f/11 for good DOF (depth of field) and the shutter set for 10 seconds. I used the self-timer to trigger the shutter each time, which allows vibration to damp out before the shutter opens. Using a cable release & mirror lock-up would be even better.
