On our last trip to Kielder ,Bob and I tried for ages,to get a good shot of this finch.We tried putting some of Bobs wedgies on a table,and some on the ground,every time we were to take the shot .off it went.after all the photograghs I took ,this was the best.

i think you succeeded in what you set out to do. i love the foreground being in focus and the background being softer. this is a very good photo. jen

This is truly a masterpiece Brian. Just beautiful how you've used the branches as the framing for this.Top notch photography. You need to submit it to the Audubon Society. They would love it!

Just saw this in VB. Truly exceptional, I think. Amazing what a little patience will deliver. I think it's a '10'. The color, clarity and composition are all terrific. Thanks for sharing.

What a delightful and delicate capture of your feathered friend Brian! I love how you used the branches to form a natural 'frame' for friend finch. The berries are quite detailed as well. The framing out of the entire image is classy and adds just the right finishing touch. I have a soft spot in my heart for birds, so this one is going to perch on my desktop for a few days while I adore it some more. Thank you for sharing this with me :~)
