Taking it back to an old trip to Sri Lanka, visiting the beaches at the southern tip. Beautiful sand and water line this long stretch making it a nice one for a stroll. This view is at the very end of the stretch. Probably one of my most memorable trips.

I like how the hike requires one to wade out to the wee island, depending on the tides. I also am enjoying the warm nature of the soil of the island and your capture of it in contrast to the equally warm blues in the water. From your initial sentence it sounds as though this one is from years ago, probably with a somewhat lesser camera than what you use now, yes? That would account for the somewhat softer focus, and that's fine. Lots of older photos are like that, I personally expect that, and these older shots are good at letting photogs see how far they've progressed through comparison. Photography is like any other creative discipline... we learn every day.
