"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider’s web." Pablo Picasso
Sometimes, when I see an artists hand creations, I think I can see what transfixed the artist most in what they were creating. You know.. the point around which the art piece emerges. I have no idea when I guess right or not, but it seems there is always one spot like that. In this one, I'd have said your left eye.. that the lighting on it had been perfect, captivating, evocative. Anyway, this is beautiful!! I can't even begin to imagine being able to do this. Quiet

you looked inside yourself... and with just a few lines projected your inner life onto a simple piece of paper... Don't let anyone tell you you're not an artist!

The scaricty of line, which is your greatest strength, is remarkable; also the clarity of mood suggested by the subtlety of expression through eys, mouth and overall composition is well posed and noted. A strongly gentle work and I praise you once again.

Staid, contemplative. You wouldn't guess that you're the party animal we know you are! Great rendering with the fewest of lines. Simon, you are a very gifted man, my friend.
"There are no rules and regulations for perfect composition. If there were we would be able to put all the information into a computer and would come out with a masterpiece. We know that's impossible. You have to compose by the seat of your pants." -Arnold Newman
