Captured at Becan in Mexico. To the Mayans, the roots of this tree represent the underworld, the branches the heavens, and the trunk the people, who are tasked with keeping the system in balance. Or at least that's what I think my "un poco English"-speaking guide was trying to telling me. Either way, these are impressive looking trees.

Tremendous depth of field. That's also a very interesting tree trunk. One slip while climbing that puppy and your day just wouldn't be made. Fantastic post and interesting narrative.
