A beautifully composed macro shot. Love the gentle curves of the tulip. Focus is a tad soft in areas, but I'm enjoying the color contrasts. Very well done, Doug.

A dramatic bee's-eye-view of the flower. The color is powerful and all-embracing. I see what seem to be a few tiny yellowish blemishes on the petals which I'd remove. It has all the appearance of an abstract and the fact that it's not gives it extra magic. This photo was a great idea.

I agree with Ed, Doug. My eye was immediately drawn to those distracting yellow smudges of pollen on the red petals. It was only after staring at the image for three hours that I was able to pry my gaze from the "tiny yellowish blemishes". It was only then that I realized that I was looking at a photo of a flower. ;-)

I'm not afraid of dying. I just don't want to be there when it happens.
