literally overnight all the cherry trees on this part of cape cod began to bloom... lots of them... specifically, these are the blooms of a 'kanzan' japanese cherry... and standing under them is like being in a pink cloud...

Oh, I had to save this one in my spring file...we don't have this type of cherry tree up here, of course..mostly just the wild variety that is very stingy with their blossoms..in fact, I cut down the cherry tree in my yard after many years cause it was just a pain to mow around and it wasn't more than 15 feet high..what a runt and never blossomed like this and never any fruit either! I'm hoping that the sparse wood will be good in the smoker. Colorful stuff..the wood that is!
