I saw these icicles at, of all places, my allergist's office in hyannis... it wasn't until I started taking pictures that the negative spaces leaped out at me...

Ah, daggers made by Glacies, the God of Snow and Ice. I really like how the sky, clouds, and light make their way through the frozen ice. Mary, this is a terrific "negative space" entry and I wish you all the best with it.

Good capture HF. I think it makes a great negative space entry. Glad you had the imagination to see this and to share with us. Good luck.

So, here's my question. Do we call this office bling?! LOL!! Very cool or should I say cold capture, Sis.

Here you go again. I "see" these kinds of shots, but in the words of Third Eye, they come out mundane and not interesting at all.

You take the same type of shot and make it spectacular.

Good on you, my friend.

The icicles are framed nicely by the clouds in the sky & the defined edges of the negative space. I love how the lighting on the icicles makes them sparkle. Wonderful contest entry Mary & best of luck.

Honey, for negative surfaces, you've got to work for a newspaper in Washington DC and cover the Congress! Seriously, though, you are right. Space--both negative and positive--become very different elements once you start using a camera.
