this was one of the most bizarre and beautiful ice 'sculptures' I came across... ordinarily I don't like the cold of winter but it's the photo opportunities that make it fun to get out...
Well this was certainly Faved right away! What an incredible shot! What lens did you use for this? I assume the sunlight on the ice caused the nice gold coloring - I also love the shades of blue on the left underside. Perfect capture of nature's art!
What a Beautiful macro!!! The colors and lighting AND sharpness are Perfect! I particularly love the "blueish" section of the ice and the colors and reflections in it. GREAT shot and a must Fav!!
A captivating and artistic image, Mary! Proof that there is as much beauty to be found in the small corners of nature as in the more familiar vistas of wide-angle landscapes. The rich, gold color in this shot is gorgeous, and your depth-of-field has produced a very pleasing background. I also love the composition and tack-sharp focus. Well done!
I absolutely LOVE this shot! A beautiful work of nature, and you have done a fantastic job capturing it. This is the kind of shot that makes me come back here. Kudos, Mary. :)
Amazing! There are always treasure to be found, right? How cold is it there? I've been trying to work up the courage to get out, but haven't managed so far.
