fortunately I had my 70-300 mm lens on the camera because there wasn't even a beach that day... the surf was slamming up against the dunes at nauset beach in orleans... it's not the kind of sea you want to play with... (please view full screen)

Wonderful shot, but I wouldn't like to be there playing with the sea. LOL

I like the greenish transparency of the water against the white turbulence of the waves - a lot of emotion and natural power captured well. It looks like it was cold out there too!

my best images happen by accident. there is so much to be seen in the minutiae surrounding us that we often miss the very best.

Is it dark because the day was overcast? It's a powerful image and I really (x3) like it but I couldn't help pulling a copy off and giving it one tweak in CS5's Auto Levels... Bang!

I have seen both copies.one by you and by Nikoneer; as I tend to prefer the poetic in nature, I prefer the softness of yours........only problem is is does have a bit of dullness to it........perhaps the lighting of the day or your lens?
In any event, the power of composition is superb...A B+
