This was taken while on a helicopter tour over the big island of Hawaii. It is lava flowing into the Pacific from the Kilauea flow. Lava flows down the island under the surface in lava tubes until they reach the shoreline, and produce a spectacular sight.

awwwwwwwwww cool! when was it taken? I was there in 2003 but no lava was entering the sea :( This looks really awesome. wow.
