Is this the leucorrhinia or the sympetrum vulgatum If anyone knows which type this is...please tell me.

Can't help you much on which type it is .. It is pretty and red.. It goes into my collection..

Darryl (mayne) had a similar one he called "red baron". Whatever species, Paul, it's an incredible shot! Tremendous detail and color, well done.

Hi Paul, I would say that this is sympetrum vulgatum. Looking at images of leucorrhinia, you see a lot of black on the body. Great shot...my compliments.

This is the last of your photos I will be commenting on. I want to say something to you if and when you see this. You havn't checked into this website since Jan 16th I think it was. That is sad. Such beautiful work you do. I do hope you return. It is a crime to deprive us of such wonderful photography.

Hello Paul,
I would agree with S. vulgatum. The only other one with that deep red is S. sanguineum [Ruddy Darter] but the sides of the thorax look too plain for it to be that species. Another lovely capture though and into my faves along with your Green Emerald.
