Shot i made yesterdaymorning from the {Sympetrum danae - Black Darter; female} at least thats what i think it is. She is enjoying the early morning sunrays to let the dew dry of her wings. Photo's can't show anything, but these little creature was so sparkling and had this colorful golden glow, that it was worthwhile just to watch her...laying on my belly in the wet grass. Such moments comes to close to perfection in life. I can recommend that to anyone

Like camerahound said - outstanding. Whenever I manage to get a decent shot of a Dragonfly, it is always horribly out of focus, so very well done on just managing to get a picture. I just love it.

Beautiful sharp image. I hope you didn't get chiggers or ticks from the grass. Very well done.

Paul: This is just breathtakingly beautiful.
Thanks for lying on your belly in the wet grass so we could have an image as good as this.
This goes on my desktop for this coming week and in my favorites gallery.

the compositional lines and cropping are great
the colours are lovely
the focus is bob-on!! with the detail in the background not out of focus too much to contextualise it and add to its composition

fantastic macro all the better that it was handheld lying in the wet grass

very nicely done

If there is such a thing as a classic, this is it. Talk about sparkle...the detail you captured on thedragon fly is indeed breathtaking. This deserves an academy award for excellance. Well done and I mean well done.

Hello again Paul, I just love this. Something I've been meaning to do but I never get up early enough and the dew has already burnt off;o) You've captured some lovely details there and the background has just enough detail to say 'moorland'. By the way, it's a Sympetrum flaveolum or Yellow-winged Darter female.
Cheers,
Steve.
