Something a little different. I'll have to perfect this a little better. takes all night just to get 4 or 5 pics with the long exposure times. I'ts rather fun to experiment with and not too difficult. just locate that north star and find a rather dark place to work in. Enjoy!

Well your experiment turned out really great - you can see the travel of the stars - hope you got caught up with some sleep :-)

We think alike, Chris; I've been waiting for atmospheric conditions to be just right so I can go out to a particular place I know to get a star trails photo (and also waiting to finish some landscaping so my wife is okay with me being out all night :o), and you're right about the length of time it takes to get these science-based photos. I'm planning to set my phone's alarm at 1.5- to 2-hour intervals to allow me to catnap in between exposures. And, as you've done here, the place I want to shoot has a close landscape for contrast and context. The fence line here glows just enough to give a graduated contrast to the trails. By the way, I'm pretty sure the bright trail to the bottom right is one of the brighter stars in the Hercules constellation and on the bottom left is Andromeda (what can I say... you've seen my avatar... I'm an astronomy nerd). Very cool.

Done good Chris. Haven't really tried many long exposure shots. When I did there was ample enough light from different sources. Here there is very little light. Might take awhile to get the hang of that.

Life's moments are sweet. I just want to capture all that I can of them.
