Is there a pathway that leads to this tree? it looks like there was a sort of wall built around it? This is a lovely view. It reminds me of a photo posted by Romane and fotobob last year, and then Romane wrote a poem about the tree. It was wonderful. I like the way you have captured the sunlight on the rock...very nice !!This photo of yours is very powerful. Thank you so much..
Hey ! I was there ! Lone cypress. And yes Verena, there is a wall built around it, I have similar pics. A great image, it was overcast the day I was there. Are you a native or were you just visiting, as my husband & I were doing ? Anyhow, thanks for bringing back memories of a great vacation !
Yeah, the amount of human effort in those walls makes you think... the photo is excellent; I love the haze in the background. Gives it a lot of good depth.
I love the warm sunlight of the afternoon. It makes the rock so inviting. One would like to jump out of the computer screen to have a few moments of some relaxation ...
Now, I am sure that this cypres is the most famous of all trees in the world. I have seen so many photo's in calenders, books, agendas etc. But yours is one of the best!
I have stood at the very same point some years ago, but could hardly see the tree in the mist. So thanks!
Great post,
Paul
Obviously this has been posted for awhile but I just discovered it. It is beautiful. The title you gave it really helps define the atmosphere of the composition. That's one tough tree. The colors in the rock are rich and varied. Great capture.

I've seen so many images of this tree over the years there is no way I could even come close to the number and this is as good as any of them. Well done -
I love how the sun is cast on this cliff. It really emphasizes the contrast between the eroded cliffs and the smooth cobbles. Oh... and the tree is cool too. Great job!
