I like it a lot. What did Sayed say? You really isolated the wonderful color of the main subject(s) in this shot. Well done.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Oh this is sooooooooo pretty. I WISH I KNEW how to do this. They grayscale and touches of colour. I cannot figure out HOW to do that. I have tried, but my PSP stumps me at times. If you ever get a chance would you mind sending me a note and letting me know how you do this? It's really nice. Verena

Ok, let's see if I can get this straight in my mentally depleted state ...

First, nice work here overall. The creative choices you made, I applaud and serve well to separate your take from the original and add some value to the image.

Caveats?

If I may ... isolating the focal subjects via colour separation accomplishes quite a bit of the creative objective I perceive, and as a consequence I personally might have toned down the vignetting effect a tad. Just my personal opinion.

Some suggestions ... uhm, looks like a pretty straight forward masking job?

Kidding, on the straw ... or whatever the material is on the cart overflowing ... as well as the horns of the beast of burden ... you can selectively 'paint' back in some of that if the masking falls a little short.

Go to "Image" >> "Adjustments" >> "Replace Colour" ... make sure 'Image' is checked ... and then using the eye dropper tool look for a good colour match for the area you are going to be working on ... selecting a small brush ... 'paint' back in some of those areas. Changing the blending mode et al as you see fit.

Really helps to be zoomed in when doing so ... and a very small brush.

Kind of a quick fix method if the area is not too obtrusive and you are tired of cutting masks.

Just some thoughts and suggestions, 'tis all.

I want to use the word 'nostalgic' here ... for the mood and feel I perceive ... kicked up with your colour separation to modernize the image.

Interesting ... in a good way of course. :o)

Good work ... well worth the revisit, methinks. And but of course, thanks for sharing those efforts and your creative vision.
