How about, rotate right? Then we have a clearer idea of 'up' and then maybe not. LOL I can see your dilemma. It's great either way. Amazing how they do this!
Fantastic capture . I can make out the pilot in the bottom plane looking up at the other. You were certainly at the right place, right time.So glad you shared this with all of us.
You must have a fantastic telephoto lens on your equipment...either that or you were in a plane next to this. I love airshows, even though I haven't been to one in years. This is an exceptional picture in its clarity and its content : )PJ
No matter which way you look at it, someone's upside down! LOL Telephoto lens? How strong? Hand held or tripod? I like how you cropped the photo so the planes are coming into the center, not leaving it. Very unique shot, Ted. - Patty
Good Lawd, did you capture this all by yourself? It's gorgeous and so sharp and clear. What an action shot. Professional from the word GO. That was a fantastic capture.
No need to send a thankyou. Some of us are trying to stop this time consuming activity. . Just use the time saved to create another pretty picture.

Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

They aren't Pitts. 've seen these planes before and know for a fact that they are Christen Eagle II's. Great flying planes! Great Shot! It is the background on my ZVM. : )
Great shot! The pilot shmushed against the top of his cockpit in the top plane gives the orientation away. Amazing contrast for such a high shutter speed.
Wow. I took the same picture about 3 months ago.. same planes, same position, but not nearly as clear as yours...
Those are the Iron Eagle Aerobatics, and the planes are Super Christen Eagle I's, modified to produce 320 hp... 2 of 4 still flying today. Awesome shot - honestly even better than the ones they have on their own web page! www.ironeagle2.com
