In the North Carolina Zoo, they have large enclosures for the animals. Some are so large you will miss the animals as they are at the far end of their enclosure. The gorilla enclosure is big but still, this one looked bored. It was late in the afternoon and maybe he wanted to nap.

You caught his looks so well, I think you shot this through bars? I see something? In any case if you did, you handled it very well. tigs=^..^=

While I do enjoy getting a chance to see primates in zoos, I also appreciate the fact that they, above most other creatures there, probably wish they weren*t. A longing for a more natural life may be one of those things that puts such expressive appearances on their faces. Well, that and wishing they had a decent camera with which to shoot photos of some of those odd-looking critters on the outside, the ones that cover most of their bodies with all that flappy stuff.

Ted, I think this gorilla is homesick for the jungle. No matter how well one tries to imitate their natural environment, it still remains an imitation.
Excellent animal portrait however.

If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins! Please CLICK HERE to see my journal! Feel free to save my images or to add them to your favorites.
