Ted, for me mystery too. I've never seen such an insect in real, so I searched on the net for a solution, but that wasn't helpful. I'm curious whether other Caedes-friends can provide you and us with a proper solution. Very intriguing capture!

It appears to be a member of the walking stick insect group - some are all green others are more camouflaged.

This is definitely a member of the Order Phasmatodea, the Stick Insect. However, there are nearly 3000 species of stick insects (Phasmida) in the world, Ted, so I'm guessing it would take a particularly dedicated entomologist to identify this one specifically. If you're going to continue surprising us with the macro world, Ted, I think you need to requisition a macro lens for yourself, possibly a Sigma 17-70 Macro, for your particular DSLR mount.
