Much better. :) The main problem as I see it with this design is that it's so many enclosed areas that are supposed to contain dynamically changing areas. Like the space for users online. That list can some day be many times that length. Or how does the navigational system work out in the Galleries area to the right? There's no room to view the expanded subgalleries. If it was built to work with a less dynamic site content I'd say it's a very nice design. It's a bit off in the geometrics too (especially around the round picture spots) but that's a smaller thing in comparison to my earlier note.
i can see where there would eb difficulties but this is the best design i've seen. really good idea and the whole shape personality is really what i pciture caedess as.
I'm working at the moment on a version of this that is a little simpler and easy to implement. I am extending the news area and relocating the galleries menu, I am thinking to a drop down, I am also trying to utilise the wasted space on the right hand side. Other than that I will just generally clean up the geometry, changing the size of the lines threw a few things out - or at least made them obvious.
And sam, if everything was conventional this would be one sad world to live in - I personally think caedes is ALL about the unconventional, new techniques, new ideas, defying convention sometimes is importent (and fun).
Anyway, I will try to address all of the issues you have pointed out in M3.
