Hi! I agree that it is cold even though I don't live where you do. You definitely have the right idea to demonstrate the cold by showing us a huge expanse of frozen ground. Your camera however, is not able to pick up a focus to infinity (which is what your camera thinks :), so it makes the entire image out of focus.
If you focus your camera on an object (like the grass in the foreground, then keeping the focus button down, move your camera to the desired composition you want, your image wouldn't be so out of focus.
You portrayed the grayness of the day good. Another winter *blah* for me...the gray days!
I am so ready for Spring.....it is bitter cold where I am as well. We don't have snow yet, but it is predicted for the beginning of the week.
Thanks for sharing this image with us and have a good week :-)
yes, a little out of focus however gives the feeling of expansiveness. This picture reminds me of a scene from a country walk in winter. cold, cold, and quiet. You can walk for miles without seeing another soul. It is quite beautiful.
I love this one, you captured my favorite kind of sky: dark and full of snow. I kinda like the blurriness: gives an impression that the viewer's gaze is unfocused and they're looking into distance, which works in this image because you got lots of distance. In the largest resolution this is barely balanced out, but in the smaller ones it's perfect. Awesome catch.
