Looks like a wooden arm climbing out of the ground and the photo effects make it look very mystical. Nice job.

This is a strange, yet appealing shot. That root looks like a foot-triping device to me, maybe nature's way of saying "walk somewhere else". The framing is interesting; I've never seen that done before...contributes a sense of lightness to the pic.

I like the way the rocks in the bg echo the arch of the root. The faded groove doesn't appeal to me particularly, but I tend to the other extreme so I can see this has it's own legitimate aesthetic going on. The radiating thing certainly helps to force the focus where it should be and reduces the impact of the surroundings nicely.
