This is very different from my shot called "Boom". I'm trying to tell, is this a fountain? I have better luck capturing mortars. Another option you might think of is pulling back from the shot then cropping in to get the area you want rather than fight your way through the smoke. Just a suggestion. You're welcome to check out my gallery as I have a few fireworks shots and here in a week, I'm sure to have more.

Fireworks have to be one of the most difficult things to shoot. They are so unpredictable. But you did a very good job of capturing the moment. Keep up the great work!
