Taken in San Fransisco.. It's named "Balcutha" (so I've been told several times). I'm not sure if she was ever really a pirate ship, but in my fantasies growing up, that's what pirate ships always looked like. It's still cool, either way.

Great shot Ric! I would try to clone out the observation area and bush in the foreground and crop the right right side to the point where the roof peak seperates the background mountains! I like the person in the small boat on the left which gives a great perspective to the size of the ship. I really like the border and the lighting in this shot:-)

Looks like a frigate and no pirate could ever hope to get one.

Balcutha is a museum ship in San Francisco. She's an old sailing freighter. The gunports are painted, which was the fashion in the 1880s and 1890s. She was completely unarmed.

This is a fantastic image. Love the contrast between the ship and the grey skies. Well done.

I like the bits of crisp colors: red on the ship, green on the tug, blue on the windows. It makes a great contrast with the sea and the sky.
