I spent some time today in the Port Clinton, Ohio area. I visited the Crane Creek Park which sits on Lake Erie (one of the great lakes). This is a must revisit place for me. I will probably do an overnight stay. This park has it all - vast marsh lands, beach walks and canal boardwalk.
As we were leaving we passed this wooded area that is not far from the observation tower and my good friend Donna (dustycat) spotted some deer.
So of course I stopped the car and using the canon 70-300 IS USM lens aimed past Donna, and out the passenger window. It was a long day, and drive but the weather was agreeable and I truly enjoyed this place.

Such a great shot. You caught her perfectly before she turned tail and ran. When I finally able to get a deer, it's always after they see me and I get the white tail.

Sandi, would an excellent capture of this deer - the detail is fantastic. I have that lens too but have not found the opportunity to use it yet. We should grab Jimbob and dustycat and meet up there sometime this spring/summer and have a day or two of it!!

I never saw any deer on my recent visits there, Sandi. I saw a few small snakes though. LOL. Gorgeous capture of the deer. I love the lighting. I gotta get me one of those 70-300mm with IS.

Great shot Sandi, the lighting in this picture is very good. An excellent wildlife picture. Nicely done Sandi. To bad I live just outside Boston. I wish I was a little bit closer to this place, but maybe some day I'll take a road trip. You make it sound like a great place to go.

I think you can see by all the comments this is a dandy Tigz. I have seen ones just like this through the scope on my rifle. If it makes you feel any better--I just looked. Now if it had a huge rack............
