I took this shot with the canon 70-300 IS USM lens, against the afternoon light.
I thought since he was already in silhouette why not use this one for the B&W challenge, a way to save the image.I probably should have cropped it a bit different, but here it is anyway. :)

Nicely done. You know how I feel about the negative space though. Think rule of thirds. Is this more effective? The stylization of this image works well in this application. Thanks for allowing us to see your work.

We are so used to seeing these birds hovering in flight and this is really different to see one at rest, and in silhouette. The details on the flower are lovely and gives some perception of how tiny this creature is.
