I took this one during my stay at the nice coach house, in Stevensville, Mi. that had a nice view of Lake Michigan.Edited this in Photomatix pro 5, trying to play around more with that program.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

Familiar with the program quite well. to other readers wanting to learn or improve technique: It takes more then just the presets..."play time is required" under "realistic" I like starting with "Enhanced I, II"(maybe. provided i didnt pick a plainterly(depending on the shot of course)

Painterly is one under "artist" then start from that point. still...takes time to get which one is right, or best suited for lighting, being the most important(to me). color, contrast, sharpening comes last in the final stage.

(for me) the tone map will be just a starting point, not the finalization of my post. if used with the original brackets and then blended, with the tone map) the origanal brackets are still useful if set up in a program where layering can be preformed(with tone map+orig brackets)..this technique is not new, been around awhile in HDR. you can get some really good results, especially in troublesome areas. a must in useing a bracketed series of shot to blend into a tone map. however, that last statement is just my opinion....

just my way of editing, surely not going to be the same for others. however, if you read into this properly? you might find a little piece of infor goes a long ways.

to tone map properly truly takes 3 or more exposure shots blended together to get you a really good over all result in Photomatic. bracket bracket bracket!...or you can make three. not as good of a method, nonetheless works in a pinch.

Raj is right, lovely composed! Tigs. plus im a big fan of the Great Lakes, Michigan not being my favorite...but it sure has plenty to offer! Im glad you had the opportunity to travel up that way. awesome place to spend time in the Autumn time.

Sandi, it's like some one has hit the sky by a magic wand. A perfect mix of a blue and dramatic sky as main subject for this well lighted and beautiful composition. Perfectly done as usual, my friend!
